What’s the name?

“Blöde Kuh” is German and it means “Silly Cow”.

 

Pronunciation?

BLUE-deh KOO

 

What is it made out of?

All our current flavors have a cashew base, and are cultured with plant-based vegan probiotics. 

 

Is it organic?

We always use organic ingredients whenever possible. In full disclosure, the fresno peppers we use for our sriracha is the only ingredient that is not currently organic, and we are exploring sources to change that. Sourcing organically is important to us, not just because we feel organic is a healthier alternative, but also because organic ingredients almost always taste better than their conventional alternatives.

 

It should be noted that we are not “certified organic”, as we have not undergone the certification process (yet).

 

Are you ______ ?

[gluten-free] – We are not certified gluten-free, but we can comfortably say that none of our ingredients contain gluten.

[soy-free] – Yes!

[dairy-free] – Definitely!

[vegan] – Indubitably!

How long does it last?

Blöde Kuh cheeses will maintain their same flavors during their first 10 days, after which the cheeses will develop sharper, tangier notes. Personally, we keep our cheeses in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

 

How do I use it?

The short answer is “lots of ways”. All our cheeses pair well as a spread or dip with a variety of breads and vegetables. It can be used in sauces and soups.
